ENCOURAGING PLEIN AIR PAINTING IN THE MONTEREY BAY AREA

Artist Profile: Lilli-Anne Price

The Monterey Peninsula has been my home for 30 years. My artistic journey with painting started 14 years ago, inspired by my horses in the landscapes of ever-changing light in their pastures that surround my home in the Steinbeck hills. I studied with the Carmel Adult School for 5 years. My classes consisted of still life painting with Mark Farina, figure drawing with John McWilliams, and plein air painting with Gerard Martin, Mark Farina, and John McWilliams. I use a palette knife and a unique palette of textured colors, raw shapes and forms to bring my paintings to life. You have to know your subject in order to have the gesture, personality, spark, drama, or feel in a painting. I show my work in my studio, Lilli-anne (of 25 years) on Ocean Ave in Carmel. I am a Signature member and the 2015 Treasurer of the MBPAPA - Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association. A Signature member of Carmel Valley Art Association. Gallery representation in Ventanna Inn & Spa in Big Sur
